Plant and Facilities Maintenance Manager

Responsible for implementing a successful maintenance program for all plant equipment, facility (the facility is 348,000sq feet with 43 docks on 20 acres), and 53’ trailers, by leading a team of three maintenance technicians and three trailer mechanics.  You must be willing to get dirty working alongside your team when troubleshooting problems and working on large projects where leadership presence and knowledge are necessary.  This is a great opportunity for a leader who can make a difference.  Must be willing to work overtime and weekends, when necessary. 

Responsibilities:

  • Establish Preventative maintenance programs, work order planning and tracking software (RCI/Dekra software)
  • Prepare project plans and coordinate planned work schedules with production and maintenance technicians to meet all deadlines
  • Organize maintenance shop and replacement parts inventory
  • Ensure all maintenance techs and mechanics are properly trained and staffing is appropriate
  • Ensure that the maintenance team meets daily preventative maintenance schedules and both planned and unplanned work
  • Keep all plant equipment operational
  • Provide cost effective solutions for all plant, facility, and trailer maintenance needs
  • Ensure that all maintenance personal are compliant with all OSHA and company safety policies and procedures
  • Source and purchase all replacement parts and maintenance supplies for the maintenance department
  • Prepare and Manage maintenance budget

Technical Skills:

  • Ability to troubleshoot and maintain electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems
  • Welding and fabrication skills
  • Reading blueprints, drawings, sketches, and schematics
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook etc) and Preventative maintenance/work order planning tracking software 

Experience:

  • 5 years in Industrial Maintenance
  • 5 years in Facilities Maintenance (preferred)
  • 2 - 5 years in a managerial or supervisory role
  • 2 years of technical or vocational training in Industrial Maintenance

Hourly

Stringer Pallet Repair Person

Pallets to be repaired are CONVEYED to the repair person then manually slid off conveyor onto repair table for inspection and repair. Once complete pallet is slid or repair table to outfeed conveyor taking pallet to stacker. When inspecting the repair person will hammer or cut any protruding nails, pry off broken boards, and replace with a new PRECUT board onto the pallet, and place companion stringer or plug when necessary. THIS POSITION REQUIRES LESS LIFTING THAN THE NORMAL PALLET REPAIR JOB. The pay includes a base pay with an attractive production incentive.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent NOT required

General Duties and Requirements:

  • Operate a pneumatic nail gun
  • Use a hammer, pry bar, and hand-held grinder
  • Read a Tape Measure
  • Wearing of personal protection equipment
  • Be able to lift 60 - 75lbs when necessary
  • Work first shift 7am to 3:30 pm.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area (at the end of the shift all repair persons are required to completely clean up the on and around the production line

Forklift Operator

Must be able to safely operate an industrial (3,000lb or 5,000lb lift) sit down forklift to move stacks (avg. 20 high) of pallets, baled OCC and other materials on and off 53’ trailers, feed and take away from production areas, and around the warehouse for storage. This is a high paced industrial environment.

Qualifications:

  • 1- 2 years of experience
  • Should have forklift OSHA certification
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)

General Duties and Requirements:

  • Preform all required pre-shift forklift inspections
  • Be able to complete trailer/container load sheet and turn them into supervisor
  • Operate forklift in a safe manor and according to the company guidelines
  • Always wear personal protection equipment
  • Be able to lift 65lbs when necessary
  • Inspect trailers/containers for any damage or unsafe conditions and report to supervisor, ensure the trailer is broom swept and clean before loading
  • Work first shift either, 6am – 3 pm or 6:30 am – 3:30pm and work overtime when needed.

Trailer Mechanic

This position will service 48’ and 53’ Dry Van Trailers. Our new facility provides for all work to be performed indoors. During the winter months this space is heated. As a trailer mechanic you will diagnose, service, and repair trailers including tires, air brakes, floors, sides, ceiling, and electrical. You will complete DOT required trailer inspections and must be able to weld and fabricate as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 1- 2 years of experience
  • DOT Inspection Certified
  • Welding and Fabrication experience necessary
  • Be able to work- day shift, Mon- Fri, 7am – 3:30pm
  • Must be able to work overtime and Saturdays when needed
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)

General Duties and Requirements:

Plant Maintenance Technician

As a plant maintenance technician, you must be responsible for the installation, repairs, and preventative maintenance of a wide variety of production and facility equipment. Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience or graduation for trade school/technical college program in industrial maintenance

  • Install production and plant facilities equipment
  • Preform startup of equipment at the beginning of the shift, make sure all machinery is operating properly, report any maintenance issues found to supervisor
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical issues, then plan and execute required repairs
  • Test equipment after repairs are made, making sure equipment is operating properly
  • Perform regular preventative maintenance on all plant and facility equipment, including proper lubrication procedures

Pay:

  • Pay starting at $19.00 hour (Pay will depend qualifications and years of experience). Inclusive of Attendance bonus.

Pallet Dismantling/Saw Operator

Operator will work in a team of 3 or 4 people dismantling wood pallets, recovering the boards, then cutting the boards to proper lengths as needed. This position will include a base pay and production incentive and the team must meet certain production quotas.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent NOT required

General Duties and Requirements:

  • Be able to work as a team with 3 or 4 other workers
  • Be able to lift 50lbs to 60lbs repetitively
  • Safely operated dismantling saw and cut off saw
  • Be able to read a tape measure
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area (at the end of the day the entire team is required to complete sweep and clean up the production area)
